The Augusta National golf club is ranked the fifth in the world’s best golf courses, this year. It is considered to be a challenge for a player to play on this course. It also has a place in one of the top positions for being the hardest courses in the golf world.
As the name suggests, Augusta National golf club is located in Augusta. It was opened to games from 1933 and it has hosted many tournaments and professional games so far. Up until 1990, the club, by no means, accepted any ethnic members. This caused a lot of criticism. In 2012, the club acquired its first women players.
The membership policies and regulations are fairly guarded and the club claims it to be a private organization. The length of the course is 6.799 meters, the slope rating is 137 and the course rating is 78.1. Augusta National golf club has restricted membership and the membership cost is believed to be from $10,000 to $30,000. The notable members in the club are Warren Buffet, Sam Palmisano, Jack Welch, Bill Gates and many others.
Augusta National golf club has expansions of broad fairways, pine trees, white sandy terrain, clean appearance and meadowland course. Each hole on the course is named after a shrub or a tree than grows near the hole like flowering crab apple, pink Dogwood and Azalea. The 11th, 12th and the 13th holes are collective named as Amen Coenr.

a) The Crows Nest of Augusta National golf club provides living space for five amateur golfers who are qualified for the Masters
b) There are ten member cabins on the property.
c) The bridge that connects the Creek to the 12th hole is made up of artificial turf and stones.
d) The lane has 61 Magnolia trees.
Hole by hole review
a) Tea Olive hole: Ranks fourth in difficulty level and it was reduced to 10 yards in the year 2010.
b) Pink Dogwood hole: Ranks sixteen in difficulty level and if the player goes left off the tee, it ditches into the trees.
c) Flowering Peach hole: It is the shortest par 4 and there is a green pear shaped steep slope in front of it. Ranks fourteen in difficulty.
d) Magnolia hole ranks six in difficulty.
e) Juniper hole is 11th in difficulty and is elevated with a vast slope.
f) Pampas hole is in the rank 3 and trees are added to it recently.
g) Yellow jasmine hole is about 300 yards out and ranks 17th.
h) Carolina Cherry hole is increased by 30 yards recently and ranks 7th.
i) Camellia hole ranks second.
j) The most difficult hole is the White Dogwood and the tees are moved 15 yards back and the trees are added.
k) The Golden bell hole has narrow target and water in the front. Ranks 13th.
l) Azalea hole ranks 15th.
m) The Chinese fir hole has no bunker and ranks 12th.
n) Firethorn ranks 18th with confusion the players to decide whether to go for greens or not.
o) Redbud hole ranks 10th.
p) Nandina hole ranks 9th and the second shot for this hole should be controlled to ace it.
q) Holly hole ranks 8th with an avenue of trees and tee moved back 60 yards.
